Bienvenue!

Bienvenue, I’m Nikki

I came to France expecting a different way of life. I just didn’t realise quite how different it would be.

I’m British, I live in the Dordogne with my French husband, our son and a gentle Boxer who is considerably less brave than she looks. By day, I help people buy and sell homes here in south-west France, which gives me a rather wonderful excuse to explore beautiful houses, hidden villages and corners of the countryside I might otherwise never discover.

Lost in the French Aisle is where I share the France we actually live in — the food, the houses, the villages, the language disasters, the bureaucracy, the beautiful everyday moments and all the things nobody thinks to tell you before you get here.

Some days France makes perfect sense. Other days, not so much.

Either way, there’s usually a story in it.
